Mr. Christopher Swoner, Director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Middle Tennessee State University will discuss the myriad of services the Tennessee Small Business Development Center Network provides for entrepreneurs to take advantage of free, confidential counseling as well as training seminars. SCORE Overview: Need a mentor for the life of your business? Ms. Lisa O’Dell, Co-Chair of the Nashville SCORE Chapter, will describe how SCORE volunteers provide free, key services both face-to-face and online to those starting or expanding a business inclusive of finding a mentor with cutting edge expertise. Workshop offerings, some that have a minimal fee, will be detailed. Government Contracting Overview: Are you seeking ways to grow your business through federal government contracting? Mr. Shawn McKeehan, SBA Deputy District Director, will provide you with the information to determine which certification is right for you. SBA Loans Overview: Having trouble obtaining a traditional loan for your business? Learn how SBA loan guarantees expand a lenders ability to make small business loans. SBA Economic Development Specialist, Jacqueline Merritt, will provide an overview of SBA’s various loan programs and explain how you can apply for an SBA loan to start or expand your business. Lender panel: Are you seeking financing to grow your business? Local SBA participating lenders will be in place, so you can shop the banks under one roof and ascertain which lender is the right fit for your operation.
