This is a 3 hour course which covers accounting terminology and methodology, the reconciliation process (especially bank reconciliations), and financial statements. Examples are incorporated into the course to allow following a transaction from the point of occurrence up through the financial statements. The course will focus on understanding the 3 basic financial statements with some preparation examples. Calculating financial ratios and using the financial statements for management of a business is also a core learning objective. Peripheral learning may include using the services of a CPA firm, accounting information systems options such as Quickbooks, and internal control considerations.
