Tue 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM
Topic: Business Basics

Have you contemplated franchise ownership but held back due to the demands of your day job or current business? Now, imagine enjoying the best of two worlds: A full-time career/business PLUS the opportunity to build wealth and equity through franchising. It is no longer an either/or decision. It may be an "and" decision. A growing trend in the franchise industry allows you to build a franchise enterprise while still keeping your corporate position or current business. Whether you are considering diversifying your portfolio, seeking another stream of retirement income/equity, or preparing for the next shift in the corporate world, this may be an option you want to learn more about. Franchising as a Career, Investment or Both is a seminar that will help you determine if investing in a business is a viable alternative for you. Topics to be discussed include the facts and myths of franchising, how to find the right business for you, and what resources are available to help you plan and start your business. There is no cost for this seminar, but we do ask that you please register. Room Change: This session will be held in Room 115 of the Technology Building on the Cleveland State Community College Main campus.

Speaker(s): This session will be led by Jerry Bird, FranNet of Alabama and East Tennessee. Jerry brings a wealth of information that he has gathered working in the corporate world and in the world of self-employment. Jerry is also a member of the TSBDC’s State-wide Advisory Council, offering his experience and advice to the TSBDC Network.
