Topic: Government Contracting

Where’s the Money? Federal agencies spend more than $500 billion on an annual basis. It was realized that federal government contract awards to Women-Owned Small Business (WOSBs) were limited and a subsequent study listed industries in which women were underrepresented and substantially underrepresented in the award of federal contracts. To address this issue, the WOSB Contracting Rule was implemented February 4, 2011. If you are a woman owned small business and fall in one of the designated industries, you can position your company to bid on federal government set asides for WOSBs and economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSBs). We invite you to attend the Where’s the Money Workshop to learn about the eligibility criteria, view a listing of the designated industries, and engage the www.fbo.gov web site to find WOSB/EDWOSB opportunities.
